Jacobs Engineering Gets Design Contract

Jacobs Engineering Group said early Tuesday it has been appointed lead trackwork design consultant for the Klang Valley Mass Rapid Transit (KVMRT) line in Malaysia. The project involves the construction of a rail-based public transport network comprising of three lines, according to a statement.

Jacobs will work with the China Communications and Construction Company and George Kent joint venture, which was awarded the $234 million contract. The KVMRT Sungai Buloh-Serdang-Putrajaya (SSP) line, which is the second mass rapid transit line to be developed, has an estimated construction cost of about $7.6 billion.
