Global Eagle Partners With Norwegian Cruise Lines

Global Eagle Entertainment said Tuesday it has signed a multi-year partnership agreement with Norwegian Cruise Line Holdings (NCLH) to enhance internet and entertainment services across the cruise-operator’s fleet of 14 ships. No financial terms for the deal were disclosed by the company.

Under the agreement, Global Eagle will implement tiered plans for wi-fi, texting and video for passengers, who in the near future will be able to use their own devices to access TV programming, on-demand movies, games, and special-event telecasts, the company said.

Global Eagle also plans monitor bandwidth for each ship based on real-time demand, ensuring consistent quality, the company said.
